On January 24, 2020, Friday, the Hubo Mass will be held at Cebu City’s Basilica Del Santo Niňo Pilgrim Centre, to end the weeklong celebration of Sinulog Festival; the most beloved, wildest, and the longest celebration of all festivities in the Philippines.

The Hubo (Cebuano, meaning “to undress”) rite will officially signal the end of the festivity. The festival officially ends on the Friday after the Santo Niňo’s feast day and is marked with the traditional Hubo rite done during the celebration of a mass in the famed basilica.

In this rite, the basilica’s priests and sacristans ceremoniously and reverently strip the Santo Niño of its festal vestments and regalia and replaced it with a plainer set of robes.

The Hubo mass will start at 4 AM with the venue at the Santo Niňo Pilgrim Center outside of the basilica.
