BEST THING TO SEE & DO IN EL NIDO
Here are just some of El Nido's terrific getaways and what you could do while you are in El Nido:
Aside from Calitang and Nacpan beaches, there are other white sandy beaches surrounding the town of El Nido. El Nido is really no ordinary place, it is a cluster of 45 small islands on the northern tip of the mainland province of Palawan. These islands lie across Bacuit Bay (and beyond) and El Nido Bay which can be a great adventure for an exhilarating island hopping.
The Taraw Peak (or Taraw Cliff) stands more than 230 meters above sea level (754 ft.) and is located in Brgy. Buena Suerte, El Nido. It is a limestone cliff right at the heart of downtown El Nido which has the awesome view of the Bacuit Bay on the north while you are on top of the cliff. Conquering the peak of Taraw Cliff usually takes 2 hours back and forth.
These lagoons have just some of the most spectacular views you can have in El Nido. The big and small lagoons can be found in Miniloc Island less than 8km from the mainland town of El Nido and across Bacuit Bay. The Small Lagoon sits majestically on the northern end of Miniloc Island and made up of an open top cathedral of limestone.
One of the finest beaches in El Nido which can be reached by land is the Las Cabanas Beach. This beach still remains unspoiled and untouched up to this day. In fact, there are a few resorts on its shore but has some restaurants where you can have a sumptuous meal or a beer. At this beach, you can have undisturbed diving, snorkeling, swimming, and camping if you have your gears. The beach is less than 4km south of Taraw Peak. Also, you can have the majestic view of Miniloc (where the famous big and small lagoons are found), Shimizu, and the Inatula Islands west of Las Cabanas Beach across Bacuit Bay.
While in El Nido, try to visit the Nacpan Beach which is around 15km north of El Nido Airport. The Nacpan Beach is a 4-km stretch of powdery white sand with crystal blue waters and is just a 45-minute ride from downtown El Nido. The site is a terrific hideaway for those who are seeking pristine waters with tranquil environment laced with natural wonders.
